AskSmarty is built to need as little of your data as possible. In short: no accounts, no personal data stored, and your marks never leave your device.
No accounts, no personal data
AskSmarty has no sign-up and no login. We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, ID number, results, or contact details to use the site.
Your marks stay on your device
The APS calculator runs entirely in your browser. The marks you enter are saved only in your device’s local storage so you do not lose them between visits. They are never sent to us or to any server. Clear your browser storage to remove them.
Analytics and advertising cookies
We use Google Analytics and advertising cookies from your first visit, to understand which pages help people and to keep the site free. The cookie notice tells you this; it is not a choice. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and you can turn off personalised Google ads at myadcenter.google.com. We do not sell personal information.
Links to official portals
When you apply or check your status, you leave AskSmarty for an official institution or CAO portal. Those sites have their own privacy policies - we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
Your POPIA rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you may ask what personal information we hold about you. Because we operate without accounts, we typically hold none. Contact us with any privacy question.
